I've already notified the people in my casino rueda group but this message is for the membership at large. Here's the deal:
I'm coming to Seoul tonight, Friday night, for bachata night over at Bahia. But tomorrow I'm heading over to see my friend Pillhwan at his dance studio, Candela, in Yangjae.
What's up?
Well.........I've been studying this kizomba dance that I've already mentioned to many of you and I've had a chance to practice it for an hour of so with a teacher that I work with. In addition, I've been able to practice a bit with one of the gals that attends the casino rueda class I go to.
I feel like I'm beginning to absorb it a lot more and I really, really like it. My friend Nelson Campos (
www.kentsalsa.com) tells me that most of the salsa clubs in UK are playing it...along with everything else. Plus I know for a fact that there's a few places it's being taught in the US now. So.......it's gonna be here sooner or later.
We could get 'ahead of the curve' here in Korea so...........I'd sure like to have a chance to get in some more practice tomorrow if I could. Pillhwan said I could use his space to practice and actually do a short, free, class for anybody who might be interested.
Such a deal........!!
If you think you might like to learn more about it (i.e. Kizomba) this would be a great chance for you to learn the basics. I'm confident I can teach you that. The basics are really easy but it's amazing how much fun it is when you've got plenty of floor and some good music to dance to.
I'm going to be at Candela around 2pm and our class will start around 2:30pm. I'm also bringing both of the Kizomba instructional DVDs that I have so, if you want to, you can see them. My objective is to get some practice for my own betterment and also, if possible, spread the awareness of it to a few more people in seoul.
Our class will be maybe an hour ....maybe a bit more. You'll be amazed at how flexible Kizomba is too. I'm convinced that much of the Kizomba movements can be integrated into bachata and, in fact, that might be the ultimate way that Kizomba gets into the Korean market. You can be part of it!
After the class at Candela, I'll be catching the KTX back to Daegu. But gimme a call in you're interested. Or just be at Candela. My cell phone is 010 5822 2277.

Art
